North Wales Golf Club

Ever since its opening back in 1894 Llandudno (North Wales) has garnered itself a highly respected reputation having hosted seemingly every top regional event imaginable.
The course is situated on Llandudno’s West Shore, overlooking ConwayBay, therefore provides a quite stunning links test. It is a natural links course in every aspect with the front line like similar to Troon, in that it runs alongside a railway line with the homeward stretch along the coast.
A particular highlight, aside from the spectacular views, is the tricky par threes where a par feels like a birdie.

Llandudno (Maesdu) lies just opposite Llandudno (North Wales) and enjoys the very same views of Snowdonia and Conwy. But while theNorth Wales course is distinctly a links course, the Maesdu layout takes on a more parkland feel. It has hosted plenty of Welsh amateur events and some of its past members have gone on to enjoy wonderful amateur careers which has helped to create a name for the club.
Visitors are very welcome and the patter in the clubhouse is worth the green fee alone. That patter, however, should give you some clues as how to play the course, as it can be quite tricky at times.

Conwy (Caernarvonshire) Golf Club is one of the premier courses inWales and since 1890 has hosted various events, most recently the Boys Championship 2004 and Open Championship Final Qualifying 2006 – the first Welsh club to have this honour. During June 2007,Conwy hosts the Ryder Cup Wales Seniors Open as well as the British Ladies Open Amateur Championship. The European Amateur Team Championships will be staged here in 2009. With easy access from junction 17 of the A55 expressway, this links course, situated in a stunning location between the Conwy Estuary and surrounding mountains, is flat in its terrain with plenty of gorse lining the closing holes. With recently restructured bunkers, approach shots can be quite challenging.

Abergele Golf Club

Abergele was done away with in the late 1960s to make way for a motorway in the cruellest of fashions but a rival quickly ensued as enthusiastic members decided not to give in and built another course nearby. The result is a course that’s love by members and visitors alike some forty years on. The Abergele course now sits at the foot of Gwyrch Castle and exudes wonderful views of the town itself and beyond. There are plenty of exciting holes on this beautiful layout, especially the par threes which enjoy magnificent backdrops. Eye-catching and challenging, this is a ‘must play’ during any visit to Wales.

The course at Betws-y-Coed is situated just on the edge of the village, in the heart of Snowdonia in North Wales, and provides a memorable welcome to all those who fancy a round.The course exhibits wonderful views of the Conwy Valle and the Mountains of Snowdonia, so if your game isn’t up to scratch you can always enjoy the surroundings.
The course has nine holes but features 18 different tees, ensuring your second nine makes for an interesting round. The fairways are generous and everything is before you on the tee so it’s as honest a test as can be.
